Ordering from China: dirt cheap, but what if it is disappointing?

Perhaps recognizable: you order something from China, but you get a lot different, nothing, something that is too small or a cable that proves to be a fire hazard. Now that we are spending more and more on online shopping abroad, such consumer problems are getting more attention.

State Secretary Mona Keijzer of Economic Affairs had to answer parliamentary questions about it twice already, and the Consumer Association also sounded the alarm: AliExpress does not adhere to the rules for consumer purchasing in the Netherlands, they say. Reflection time is missing, as is the standard warranty. And do you want to go to court? You have to go to Hong Kong.
